MAJOR REGIONAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP
INITIATIVE ANNOUNCEMENT
The Okanagan Valley Entrepreneurs Society (OVES) is pleased to announce the first-ever Valley-wide Entrepreneurship Roundtable to be held September 7, 2011 at the Delta Grand Hotel in Kelowna, B.C.
During a two year research and investigative period, the Society’s Board identified an exciting opportunity for an enhanced spirit of “collaboration & collegiality” amongst stakeholders, thought leaders and existing & aspiring entrepreneurs in the Okanagan Valley region.
The primary intent of this initiative is to bring together a cross section of Valley “thought leaders” and “entrepreneurs”, working together in a Roundtable discussion with the task of:
- reviewing a series of major entrepreneurial themes
- seeking a consensus for the formation of an Okanagan Valley Entrepreneurship Task Force.
This Task Force will be charged with drafting a first-ever Entrepreneurship Strategy and a three year Action Plan. This initiative uniquely identifies that although a new wave of entrepreneurial evolution is upon us, we must not presume the future is not without challenge. With that in mind, the Entrepreneurship Roundtable wishes to embrace that challenge and prompt a “new order of collaboration” to greet its arrival.
Collaborative Leadership is imperative for this new era of entrepreneurial exchange, not only for short-term collaboration, but, as a continuum to discover the most sensible and strategic manner to encourage innovation and entrepreneurial growth and success within the Okanagan region.
The Society is genuinely grateful for the sponsorship of this initiative by the Harvest Group of Companies and its CEO, Mr. Frank Lonardelli, who has graciously accepted the invitation to be the keynote luncheon speaker at the event. The Harvest Group, one of the leading real estate investment corporations in western Canada, through Mr. Lonardelli's participation, is predicted to make a major corporate announcement for the Okanagan region.
