October & November have continued to be busy months for OVES. Back on September 7th, OVES hosted the first Okanagan Entrepreneurial Roundtable. Local entrepreneurs & business thought leaders gathered together to create a plan to spark entrepreneurial growth in the Okanagan. Click here for more details.
A task force of some 20 entrepreneurs and thought leaders has been developed and is being lead by Facilitator David Church. Their task is to review the results of the Roundtable and to decide how to act upon the initiatives & strategies that were developed. The purpose of this roundtable is to create a document to take to government to encourage the development of an Okanagan initiative to foster an entrepreneurial-friendly environment to create new and expand upon existing businesses.

Recent changes to the OVES Board of Directors: Rae Stonehouse has taken on the Chairman role. He continues on in the VP Education & Training role as well. Colin Parker has taken on VP Membership and Joel Young our Society’s founder, has stepped into the VP Sponsorship role on an interim basis. We have regrettably accepted the resignation of Lynn Fenton as our VP Finances.
The Board welcomes Daniel Joseph, from Total Office Business Furnishings. He will be taking on the CYBF (Canadian Youth Business Foundation) portfolio. We would also like to welcome Daryl Dunstan who will be serving as a resource for the Board.
