September has been a busy month for OVES. On September 7th, OVES hosted the first Okanagan Entrepreneurial Roundtable. Local entrepreneurs & business thought leaders gathered together to create a plan to spark entrepreneurial growth in the Okanagan. Click here for more details. The Board of Directors are now reviewing the results of the Roundtable and deciding on how to act upon the initiatives & strategies that were developed. Joel also makes an announcement about Global Entrepreneurship Week.
One of the popular suggestions brought forward from the Roundtable was to further develop this website as a “hub” i.e. the place to go for all things related to entrepreneurism in the Okanagan. This process will take while but we have started developing our Okanagan Resources Section. We have also added a new feature entitled Upcoming Okanagan Business Events. We hope that this will develop into a valuable resource for local entrepreneurs and the Okanagan business community. Community organizations are able to upload their own event information.
A newly added feature to our Entrepreneurial Resources section is RSS feeds from Entrepreneur.com magazine and our local Accelerate Okanagan. Be sure to check them regularly for up-to-date entrepreneurial information.
Also on September 7th we held our Townhall meeting on E-commerce for Entrepreneurs.

We are also working on the next session of our Building Your Business Series topic which will be an expanded, hands-on version of the Townhall topic, E-commerce for Entrepreneurs. Details & registration will be posted soon.
