As an entrepreneur, we can guarantee that at some time in the very near future you will have to make a presentation. In fact, if you want to be successful, you will likely have to make lots of them to investors, prospects, at conferences, for the media etc. Will you be ready? What prevents you from doing so?
The Okanagan Valley Entrepreneurs Society (OVES) & Kelowna Scotiabank proudly presented the March 2011 Townhall Series.
Our topic: Presentation Skills for Entrepreneurs
-
Does your elevator speech make it to the top floor?
-
If networking is speaking 1 to 1 are you prepared to speak 1 to 10, 50 or 100 or more?
-
Have you ever said "I'll just wing it!" when you were asked to speak?
-
Do you know the best places to speak about your product or service?
-
Have you ever said "I'll just use a Powerpoint. It will cover everything for me."
Our team of seasoned presenters, Alexandra Krieger & Rae Stonehouse (DTM) shared techniques that you could readily use to add impact to your next presentation.
Our presenters will facilitate a highly interactive session that will send you home with practical tips that will take your presentation to the next level. Don't let your pain of public speaking get in the way of selling yourself. We're all friends at OVES and we are here to help you.

Rae Stonehouse: How many people can honestly say that they spent part of their formative years in a maximum security hospital for the criminally insane?
Rae can! True, he was working as a staff in the Dietary Department and was able to go home every evening at the end of his shift but that experience has had a lasting effect on him.
Over the past 30+ years Rae has been working as a Registered Nurse, predominantly in the field of mental health/psychiatric nursing.
During those years Rae has developed an insatiable quest for knowledge and is passionate about sharing that knowledge with friends, colleagues & clients. Rae has adapted and embodies a mantra popularized by the likes of Brian Tracy & Anthony Robbins, that of CANEI (Continuous and Never Ending Improvement). He has incorporated that philosophy into his every day living and is quite willing to bring others along with him
Rae has had many leadership positions throughout his career and over the past 17+ years has challenged himself by taking on progressive communication & leadership skill development opportunities within Toastmasters. He remains quite active in Toastmasters belonging to two local clubs and serving as the Webmaster for several Toastmasters websites. Rae continues to hone his public speaking skills and speaks regularly to groups as opportunities arise.
Rae is currently developing entrepreneurial opportunities, online & here within the Okanagan Valley. His business Live For Excellence Productions provides event planning specializing in seminars & workshops. Through Rae Stonehouse Speakers Services he provides Master of Ceremonies services and speech/presentations coaching for individuals or groups. Through Stonehouse Healthcare Consultants he provides community-based healthcare agencies with clinical support in developing their policies & procedures, clinical programs and occupational health & safety program. He is currently delving into the information marketing field and is completing writing his first book, working title: Protect Yourself! A Violence Prevention Manual for Healthcare Workers drawing on his years of nursing experience.
He is also a Director of the Okanagan Valley Entrepreneurs Society (OVES) and is the organizer and Moderator of our Townhall Series.
